With just a tiny bit of optimism, this could turn out to be a really GREAT weather weekend!
The only areas for concern are low percentages for storms Saturday night through Sunday and here’s what the 7-Day Detailed Weatherbug.com Report for Long Pond, PA has to say about that:
Saturday Night:
Lo: 65 Degrees. Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 60s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
Sunday:
Hi: 81 degrees. Mostly cloudy in the morning…then becoming partly sunny. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs around 80. Chance of rain 40 percent.
Lo: 64 degrees. Partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 60s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
While nighttime temperatures are simply awesome for August, please remember that we are in the middle of a 2.5 mile racetrack, basically an open field. With anything more than a light breeze it’s actually possible to be a bit chilled outdoors. Please remember to bring a light windbreaker and at least one long sleeve shirt, just in case.
If by chance you forget to bring a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt and need one, there are clothing vendors adjacent to our campsite. You can find some great bargains over there ($5 sweatshirts etc..) if you don’t mind buying something related to a team combination that no longer exists (driver/sponsor/race team).
Should this forecast shift and temperatures drop, a sweatshirt may be required (and worn by many at night last year).
Today is packing day so don’t forget to bring your bikes and bring your games if you’ve got them!
