2011 AirPocono NEW Additions!

When we negotiated with Pocono Raceway last year they were insistent that this was merely year number 1 and that they hoped we would come back in bigger numbers, year after year.   Little did we know they really meant it!

This year, with no additional increase in Early Bird or Regular Infield Camping fees, we will not only retain all the perks and privileges that we had in 2010, we’ll ALL be issued Pit Paddock Passes  in 2011, at no additional charge!  That’s a $50pp value and for 2011 AirPocono attendees it’s FREE.

We had a number of attendees that needed handicapped access to the grandstands in 2010.  While Pocono Raceway doesn’t offer a standard infield handicapped transportation service they will provide AirPocono attendees, that register their handicapped tags with us, a handicapped windshield placard so that you may leave through the tunnel turn and drive over to reserved handicapped parking near the grandstands whenever you desire.

If you’re truly an Airstream aficionado or maybe even a fanatic what’s next could be this year’s biggest news for you.  We’re hammering out the financials required to bring Dale “Pee Wee” Schwamborn to AirPocono for 2011.  If for some reason you have never heard the name Pee Wee, well, where have you been?  Dale is Wally Byam’s 1st cousin once removed and was both a scout and direct participant in many of Wally’s world renown caravans in the 50′s and early 60′s.  Dale’s mom, Helen Schwamborn, was hand selected by Wally to run the Wally Byam Caravan Club from it’s inception in 1955 through it’s peak year of membership, nearly 28,000 Airstream owning families, all the way back in 1979.  Dale will be happy to speak to the group and provide a slide show of everything that once was in the world of Airstreaming.  Dale likes nothing better than to spend time with Airstreamers — you’ll find Dale available for individual and small group discussions all weekend long…

Dave M. & Jane L. have already offered to tow an additional Airstream to Pocono Raceway for Dale to stay in.  We’re hoping that as a group we can find the funds to bring Dale out to AirPocono for 2011!  If you’ve never camped with Dale, this could be your once in a lifetime opportunity.  You’ll have the opportunity to make a donation towards the effort, if you so choose, during registration.

Stay tuned because registration opens TONIGHT!
