Off to a NASCAR event! Roger and I had never been to a NASCAR event and going with a group of Airstreamers sounded like something to check off the bucket list. So off we went!
We travelled down from Ottawa with friends and found our spot in the Airstream circle. It was time to meet and greet and snack and eat. We took the opportunity to walk around the grounds and see how the American NASCAR culture worked. They came by car, by bus, by van, by RV, by motorhome and by truck. They slept in all manner of ways from the comfort of a luxurious motorhome, to on the ground in a small tent. They viewed all the races from the comfort (?) of the stands, from chairs behind their RV by the fence, from the roof tops of old school busses and RVs, from platforms on the back of pickup trucks or just plain sitting on the grass.
It was a fun experience … would we do it again? ….. Yes. We enjoyed the fun and fellowship of our Airstream friends. Are we hooked on NASCAR? … Well let’s just say we did have it on the TV the following weekend. Thanks for a great time Leo and all those others who helped to make it happen.
