When I first got my Airstream I had visions of waking up to a different view every day, a lake, a beach, the woods, a Walmart, another Walmart, and so on. But I never imagined being awoken by first the circling sounds of horse power, and then the sights of the infield. Another new experience brought to me by Airstream and it was fantastic.
This rally was more than going to the races, it was experiencing the track from the center, literally, we were in a wagon wheel. There was the thrill of the power, the sounds and the speed of the cars. Then there were the sights of the local hardcore NASCAR fans, who live and breathe it. Then there was the concentration of our Airstream community within our wagon wheel. Within our group we had a Joe Fodor breakfast (for those who could get up), a 3-movie movie night, good conversation, happy hours, campfires and a great time. The track put on an amazing fireworks display. Another fun part, was being able to walk up and down pit road.
AirPocono is now on my Airstreaming calendar, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I hope next year the wagon wheel will be three circles deep!
Not that I am a hard core fan, I wonder how my Airstream will look painted yellow and red with the numbers 29 on the sides?
